Joao Palhinha is set to return as an option for Bayern Munich at Freiburg next weekend.

Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha, 29, is set to return for Saturday’s Bundesliga trip to Freiburg, Ufabet Germany reported on Sunday. 

Palhinha suffered a ruptured right thigh muscle in November last year that kept him out for more than two months. The 29 year-old had picked up an adductor injury while training with the Portuguese national team in November. Per a report by Ufabet Sports Palhinha is now targeting the SC Freiburg game on Saturday to make his return to the pitch.

Palhinha is a feisty midfield destroyer who loves going into duels and his services will aid his teammates well against Freiburg who are know to fight tooth and nail to the finish. With the midfield stocked up, Vincent Kompany has the luxury of making a healthily paced return for Palhinha.

Vincent Kompany currently uses Leon Goretzka and Aleksandar Pavlovic in central midfield alongside Joshua Kimmich. So Palhinha’s recovery gives the 38-year-old more options in midfield.
